In December 2006, two significant events took place in the Jersey Shore Alumni Club's history. First, the JSAC awarded its first ever scholarship to one of the Delta-Beta Chapter's undergraduates. This privately-funded scholarship marked the beginning of a new tradition of giving back to worthy undergraduate brothers in a financially significant way.

The second, larger event was the creation of the Delta-Beta Scholarship Fund with the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation. This is an endowment fund that is set-up specifically to invest donations from alumni, undergraduates, parents, businesses, and all other friends of the Delta-Beta Chapter. The earnings from these investments will then be used to fund more scholarships for the Delta-Beta Chapter.

When the fund grows large enough, we will be able to use the earnings from the fund to finance the purchase of a chapter house. The alumni club will also use this money to furnish our active chapter with necessary academic materials including computers, books, study tables, chairs, etc.

The benefits are obvious for the undergraduates, but for the alumni the benefits are quite expansive. Not only are donations to this fund 100% tax-deductible, but investing in this fund also continues our alumni's commitment to creating a chapter of distinction at Delta-Beta.
